Moj prijedlog je kreiranje proširene stvarnosti koristeći formu stupa. Inspiracija dolazi iz dva primjera; prvi je Trajanov stup u Rimu, obavijen spiralnim reljefnim frizom, a drugi su reklamni stupovi koje možete vidjeti u europskim gradovima. Digitalni printevi postavljaju se oko stupova, kao što je prikazano na primjeru. Gledatelj može skinuti aplikaciju za proširenu stvarnost i preko aplikacije gledati 3D animacije na cilindričnom printu. Na printu se nalazi mali QR kod koji vodi do preuzimanja aplikacije. Postavili bi jedan ili više ovakvih AR stupova u Parizu, uz web stranicu s lokacijama stupova. Primjer animacije je u nastavku, uz video AR aplikacije s iPhone-a.

My proposal is to create an Augmented Reality work using the form of a column. I have two inspirations, Trajan’s column in Rome which has a narrative that spirals around the column and the Colonne Morris that is a cylindrical advertising Kiosk seen throughout Europe. I propose to create digital prints that are cylindrical when placed in a Colonne Morris. An example is shown above on the right. A viewer can download an Augmented Reality app and use it to view 3D animations superimposed on the cylindrical print. The print itself will have a small QR marker the viewer can use to download the app in situ. One or more of these AR Colonne Morris would be deployed around the city of Paris for a period of time. A website would also be put up with the location of the column or columns. An example of the animations contents is shown below as well as a link to a video taken from the point of view of an iPhone running the AR app.

Smatram se estetskim istraživačem, što je proširenje izraza „umjetnik“. Prije svega definiram parametre projekta i istražujem niz estetskih i praktičnih problema. Kad dođem do rješenja, predstavljam svoj rad, u obliku interaktivne instalacije, performansa, videa ili radionice / prezentacije. Vjerujem da se umjetnik u svom radu suočava s tri stvari; 1) Raison d’être – kreativni poriv, poticaj na stvaranje. 2) Povijest umjetnosti i odnos s poviješću umjetnosti, i mjesto umjetnika u tom kontekstu. 3) Kulturni i intelektualni milje razdoblja u kojem žive. Ta tri aspekta umjetnosti stvaraju punoću i dubinu svih umjetničkih djela. Ja radim s računalima i novim medijima, ali na temelju mog znanja iz likovnih umjetnosti, ne na osnovu zahtjeva tržišta. Zato sebe nazivam istraživačem.

I consider myself an aesthetic researcher. It’s an expansion on the term “artist.” What I do is define the parameters for any project and then explore through a set of aesthetic and practical problems. When I come to a resolution I present the work. This can be in the form of an interactive installation, a performance, a video or a workshop/presentation. I believe an artist confronts three things in their work; 1) Their raison d’être – the creative urge, what pushes them to create. 2) Art History and a discourse with art history as well as their position in it. 3) The cultural and intellectual milieu for the times in which they live. These three aspects of art create the fullness and depth of any artwork. I work with computers and new media but they are informed by my background as a fine artist. They are not informed by the demands of the market. That’s why I call myself a researcher.

Film je sastavljen od vremenskog slijeda 301 trenutne poruke dana s aplikacije WhatsApp, povezane naslovom i izravnom vezom s okolinom, razmijenjene tijekom razdoblja ograničenja, straha, usamljenosti, frustracije i drugih emocija uzrokovanih pandemijom virusa COVID-19. Interpretacije poruka, nalik haiku pjesmama, predstavljaju audio-vizualni odraz trenutne društveno-političke situacije u Nizozemskoj. Publika se kroz interaktivno iskustvo proširene stvarnosti povezuje s okruženjem.

The film is a timeline of 301 fleeting visions based on one WhatsApp message of the day, connected through their titles and their direct environment in a period that is under the influence of restriction, fear, loneliness, frustration, and all emotions triggered by COVID-19. The “haikuesque” interpretations of the messages we receive are an artistic audio-visual translation of the current socio-political situation of our environment in the Netherlands. By using AR we aim to create an interactive experience for the audience to engage with their surroundings.

Claire Meekel, Coco Belize

Claire (24) i Coco (27) su nezavisne umjetnice i redateljice, a obje su nedavno diplomirale. Claire se bavi eksperimentalnim filmom i računalnim igrama. Radovi su joj izlagani na međunarodnoj razini, a jedna njena igra dobila je nagradu na festivalu igara nezavisne produkcije IGF. Coco se bavi multimedijom i dokumentarnim filmom. Surađivala je s nekoliko poznatih nizozemskih glazbenika i radila na velikom projektu u koncertnoj dvorani Afas Live u Amsterdamu. Objema umjetnicama je zajednička znatiželja i traženje umjetničkih i društvenih potencijala van konvencionalnog. Eeny Meeny Motion Pictures je njihova prva suradnja izvan okvira studentskog zadatka.

Claire (24) and Coco (27) are two recently graduated autonomous artists and filmmakers. Claire has a background in experimental film and games. Her projects were internationally screened and her game won an IGF. Coco combines her interest in multimedia and documentary filmmaking. She has worked with several major Dutch musicians, of which one collaboration was screened in the Afas Live. What they have in common is their constant curiosity to look for artistic and social potential beyond the conventional. Eeny Meeny Motion Pictures is the artist’s first collaboration and non-study related debut.

Iako mu ne nedostaje zemaljskih luksuza, Hadrian kreće u potragu za boljim životom. Pokušavajući pobjeći od starog života, iscrpljuje sve snage. Rad predstavlja seriju filmskih isječaka, epizoda složenih za kompulzivno gledanje.

Although he does not lack earthly luxury, Hadrian one day sets out in search of a better life. The attempt to escape the previous version of his life demands all his strength. The work represents a bingeable series, a film cut into pieces, episodes in a binge-worthy arrangement.

Diplomirala je na Školi za primijenjene umjetnosti Sveučilišta Stroganov u Moskvi. Živi i radi u Beču i Donjoj Austriji. Nagrađena je Državnom nagradom Republike Austrije za video i medijsku umjetnost 2011. godine. Sudjelovala je na niz prestižnih umjetničkih rezidencija, uključujući Djerassi Residence Artists Program (Woodside, Kalifornija), KuS (Heerlen, Nizozemska), ORTung (Strobl, Austrija) i Nordens Hus (Reykjavík, Island).

graduated from State Stroganow University of Fine and Applied Arts in Moscow. She lives and works in Vienna and Lower Austria. She has won the Austrian State Grant for Video and Media Art in 2011. She was awarded several prestigious residencies, including the Djerassi Residence Artists Program (Woodside, California), KuS (Heerlen, Netherlands), ORTung (Strobl, Austria), and Nordens Hus (Reykjavík, Iceland).
